Hi,

I have some Jquery Popups in use on my website. In order for them to work in Internet Explorer, I have to use XHTML 1.0 Transitional DTD.

I have been able to change the DTD by adding the correct one to the default.aspx (note: adding it to the skin I use, does not actually change the DTD)

When I do this, it messes with my skin layout. All of the Content gets centered and the text size gets rather small. I have tried changing the default.css and the skin.css files to have body { text-align:left } but this doesn't change anything.

I really need the popups to show up correctly so I have to use the XHTML Transitional DTD. Has anyone had similar issues when Changing to this DTD and might know a solution?

Thanks,

Chris

That is not be the "correct" way to change the doctype, you can read here what's the standard way to do that:

Are you using DNN 5?

BTW, don't forget CSS classes are case sensitive in XHTML

Hi Timo,

I am using DNN 5. I changed the DocType the way you said, and that is working, but I am still having the problem of everything being centered. I have tried looking with Firebug/Chrome Inspect Element thing, but everything I change does not effect the Centering. I remember a while back when I was looking into this, someone else has posted about the same issue when changing to XHTML Transitional.

Is there something in specific that when changing to XHTML Transitional makes everything get centered?

Thanks,

Chris

As a Note, and I am not sure if this is the correct approach, But I started testing, and Deleted all of the CSS from the various CSS files that are showing up in the Page Source, I did it CSS file by CSS file and none of them Uncentered everything and put it back to a left alignment. I am going off the assumption that things will default to a left Justification unless told otherwise in the CSS. I also started testing out my own Skin with the XHTML Transitional DocType and it has everything left justified at the moment. The only CSS that is different is the Skin.css. So I am not sure what my be occuring.
