Hi there!

I'm new to DNN.

Currently working on my first skin.

There is one think which I found very complicated in DNN5 comparing to DNN4.

In DNN4 when updataing .htm file structure you just had to parse skin again. In DNN5 as far as I'm aware you have to install extension once again, and again.

Is there any other (easier, faster) way to update .htm file so it would have effect on the skin?

Excludin editing .ascx file of course:)

Best Regards,

Peter

Parsing the skin in DNN 5 works the same as in DNN4, there should be no real difference.
(I'm guessing you are copying the skin files?)

How many types of skin are available? Appreciate that if someone do a check.

What I did:

1.zipped DNN4 skin (without .ascx file)
2. installed as an extension
3. created package + create a manifest
4. change site skin under Admin >> Site Setting

After those steps skin works fine.

After that did some extra coding (adding div's for example) to the .html file.
Whent to Admin >> Skins and pressed 'parse skin packge' - but after was parsed there was no 'update' or 'apply' button and no chagnes to .ascx file was made.

I'm doing this wrong?

Regards,
