I have a  skin I am in the process of building.  For some reason it is referencing the Default.css file.  I tried to override the reference to the class in the Default.css file with a reference of my own, but it's not working.  How do I override it without having to include my version of the Default.css?

Hi,

All skins, be default reference the Default.css file, it's a stylesheet that's always been included and contains the general DNN styles. It's referenced first, so as long as you're using the same selectors your code should have the highest specificity. There are 2 other things you can try to gain higher specificity:

1. Reference a wrapping element for the class or ID, e.g. if your skin has a wrapping DIV use that before the selector such as #pageid .class
2. add the !important element after your CSS setting

If you have a live example of the skin can you provide a link, and a rough low-down on what you're trying to achieve and I'd be happy to take a look.

Regards,

Rick.

I haven't post a live skin but what I am trying to do is customize the control panel to blend with the skin.  I have the regular iconbar looking good, but the ribbon bar is giving me the problem.  Some will blend using the !important, but there are the references to the "WebControlSkin/Default/RibbonBar/RibbonBar.Default.css" and "WebResource.axd?d=MhCF2JnsNKM4qrIi1IGn9He4ktCvb4iXzq12jLT3gh6FlsFccyLlZUR8JS762i9Oic-fvY4h1Yk1&t=634363028120000000"  that I cannot figure out.  I think that the webresource.axd is generated by telerik but I don't know how to use it.

Ah, I understand your frustration then, which is why I tend to use the PanelBar, IMO sometimes less is more, especially when you hand a site across to a client (I like the simplicity of the PanelBar and it has just about everything you need to manage the site).

From what I can see the ribbon bar does use a lot of extra code, and I can imagine it's going to take a little bit of digging (do you use the FireBug plugin?) to get it looking just the way you want.

Rick.

Im using the built-in that comes with Chrome.  I also use the iconbar and I know that the ribbonbar will take more to make it blend, but I'm doing it so people can have their choice of the iconbar or the ribbonbar.  Do you have any tips or do you know where i can find info on this?
