Hi all,

I'm trying to write a custom error page that will work in all portals.  How would I get the skin path for current portal and apply it to the error page.

I've tried doing this:
protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e)
        {
            base.OnInit(e);

            this.StyleSheet.Attributes["href"] = ResolveUrl(PortalSettings.Current.DefaultPortalSkin);
        }

But then the subsequent link looks like this:
<link id="StyleSheet" href="/[G]Skins/Main/main.ascx" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"></link>

This is going to the template file not the css file, and could someone explain why [G] is in there??  The idea is to have one page that will work in any portal and is skinned accordingly.  Then all I have to do is retrieve the error message which is shown in ErrorPage.aspx but this time only display to an admin user which should be easy enough to do.

Any help appreciated
Phil

Hi,
Maybe you can add a "skinsrc" to the url parameter when redirect to the error page. Just something like this:
when there's something error, then execute the following code
Response.Redirect("ErrorPage.aspx?skinsrc="+ResolveUrl(PortalSettings.Current.DefaultPortalSkin));

But these could be ASP.Net 404, 500 etc errors.  In which case I'll have no control over how they are generated.  So really I just need to know how to link to the stylesheet for a specific portal.  As when I do it I get [G] in the path which breaks everything.
