i believe this was resolved in 6.0.1 so upgrading will fix it, but http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/109/threadid/427773/scope/posts.aspx also offers a way to fix it by manually updating the menu definition

Dear Cathal

Thanks for you response, I am running 6.0.1 Pro version and Yes you are right the issue with the Top Level has been resolved, however it is the next level down the "Category" menu items which i am talking about

For Example take the menu structure below

Home
---->Page1 (Disabled)
-------->Child of Page1

So if you have Page1 Disabled it appears with a Black background.

using FireBug it is the the image url("images/rootItemL.png") but by removing this the TopLevel nodes are also effected

In the CSS it is the following Line (8)  \Portals\_default\Skins\DarkKnight\DNNMega\dnnmega.css

ul.dnnmega li.root span{display:block;line-height:33px;height:38px;background:url(images/rootItemL.png) no-repeat 0 6px;margin:0 15px 0 0;padding:6px 0 0 15px;}
