I have been developing a site in dnn, at http://frustrated-inc.bluehorizoncons... ... I was pleased with the way the site was coming along, until i pulled it up in the explorer browser... the layout is all messed up. Can someone take a look at the site in crome, firefox, safari and see the site as i see it, then take a look in explorer. Can anyone suggest how to resolve this? I will post the ascx and or the css data if need be. Just let me know what ya need to see to fix this, please.

Thank you ahead of time for taking a look. Any suggestions or direction will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Try setting the doctype to 1.0 Transitional in the host setitngs under advanced, this helped me a lot with my ie woes.

Hi box86rowh,

Thank you so much for replying. It worked! God Bless YOU!

Just for the people that are still learning DNN, like myself, this is how to change the doc type as box86rowh suggested in DNN 6.x:

Go to Host - Host Settings - Basic Settings tab
Scroll down to Host Details - locate Fallback Skin Doctype (below Host Email) - in the drop down menu select XHTML 1.0 transitional (Update Page)
Scroll down again to the bottom of the page where you did the Update, and Restart the Application

As box86r0wh stated, this will fix your problems in explorer.

Please note that although this is a perfectly valid solurion on a one portal installation, you should no use that setting on a multi portal installation without testing all the portals.

With an XHTML doctype css classes  and ids are case sensitive and any  skin without it's own doctype defined (which is most likely based on HTML 4 transitional) will mosty likely fail with an XHTML doctype.

The safer way is to include a doctype xml file for your skin.
