Hi,

I am building a toolbar type module where the bar has a fixed position to the bottom of the view and it's z-index is being set to make it appear above other elements in the stack order. I had been testing it on a page with no other content, just skin elements and all seemed fine until I moved the test to a page with modules and module content.

Here I found that the toolbar, no matter where if it was above or below other modules in the page, will still fall behind modules. This leads me to assuming the module container has a z-index and my toolbar index becomes relative to the module container.

So.. How can I ensure that my module gets the highest z-index?

Thanks for the help

Mark

DNN gives modules in dnn6.x a z-index of 902, using the class DnnModule class. You need to take this into account. Doe you have a link?

Thanks for that, I read that in a blog and have been using a z-index of twenty thousand.

Since I figure the module container is the parent to all my elements then no matter my element z-index each module the module container limits to 902. When elements of the same z-index 'overlap' I though the overlap order was determined by position in the DOM. Element higher on the DOM will overlap lower but this also does not seem to be the case with module containers as I added an HTML module with some text after my module but still no luck.

Unfortunately I can not give a link. it is local host

I think I answered my own question...but backwards... on similar z-index levels, the element lower in the DOM gets the higher stack order it would seem. So by putting my module on the lowest content pane (footer) I was able to solve this.

Cheers
