Hi

I am on the hunt for a W3C Skin that is HTML5 and CSS3 compatible. Have had a look here http://store.dotnetnuke.com/home/prod... and validated them all seem to be invalid?

Many thanks in advance.

well most of the times ( not in the case of the demo link) the skins are valid but the content is not. Also if you look at some of the skins that say html5 and css3. Its not just setting doctype to html but all html have to support this as well. I have seen custom skinned website having perfect html5 and realy using all the correct html5 tags).

I also did custom ones for private cleints but so far I don't know of any for sale on the store that are realy html5

I am finding the same issue.... Many of these skins for sale NEVER pass validation.

It would be daring and perhaps increase their sales if they could provide a link with specs and PROOF that their sites are really HTML5 or W3C compliant.

Every time I kindly point out issues with such skins, some vendors get all defensive with excuses....

I often find that sometimes you have to remove the modules after purchase and just test the skin itself.... or fix the errors and issue in the skin itself. I also inform my clients of this issue as well.... just in case one day they test it somewhere on an online Validator

In regards to Modules, You'd be surprised how many Modules FAIL CSS validation.... some vendors are willing to fix the issues when I bring this to their attention....
The majority of your CSS or HTML5 FAIL issues are coming from the modules.css is what I'm finding....

I dream of a day when Module developers "Thoroughly" Test validation before releasing their product in the store... because i have YET found a product that is truly compliant.... I'm always having to repair it or not use the module at all.

not html5 but xhtml and the html validates. my design contest entry. css validates for css 3 as well not 2.1. It still shows some browser classes like -moz as invalid but that is whats needed unfortunately for cross browser styling

If I make a demo for a skin I just put in all content with the text/html module. thats about the one module that does not inject stuff I don't need
