Hi,

Apologies if this seems like a repetition.

I have changed the background  of my website via Admin->Site Settings->Appearance-> Background.. to an image

The issue is that the background image is displayed when I click through pages for a split second and then when the page fully loads it disappears. I am not sure if there is a line of code restricting the changes from becoming permanent. I am not particularly good with CSS  and will prefer not to edit the skin.css file in order to fix this

Will it be possible to edit the stylesheet with a line of code that makes the background image permanent? Or does anyone know a good fix for this?

Thanks

Spleef,

From your description it sounds like you're seeing the background you want and then it's being overwritten by a CSS file with a higher precedence. In DotNetNuke there is a CSS loading hierarchy.  You can learn more about it here: DotNetNuke CSS Precedence: What You Should Know

So your desired background is loaded, then overwritten. You will most likely have to modify the CSS in order to fix this issue.

Another thing that may be helpful is to use Google Chrome and click F12 and then use the CSS inspecting tool (looks like a magnifying glass in the bottom left corner) to inspect your styles. Just hover over some areas of the page and then click on them and you should be able to see what's getting loaded and from where.

Hope this helps!
