hello,

I am new to dotnetnuke, is there a way to create or customize a skin (theme) in visual studio 2012. any tutorial please.

We are answering questions, just not yours ;-)

Creating skins in Visual studio is not much different from any other editor.

You can create a skin using pretty much any editing / HTML layout / markup tool.
From something as simple as NOTEPAD or as complex as dreamweaver / visual studio.

Ultimately all that really matters is that you get the markup correct and the css style elements suitable to your visual requirements.

http://www.dnnskins.com/ has some good examples to help get you started.
