Hi

I'm really new at DotNetNuke and have been tasked with creating some skins. I've created a simple one page skin with a very basic layout to get the hang of it. It installed succesfully, but it doesn't appear in the Page Management -> Appearance -> Page Skin dropdown.

When trying to remove the skin I get an error message: This set of skins cannot be deleted because it is being used

I'm pretty sure it's not being used on any pages as I've been unable to select it up to now. Am I missing something obvious or can anyone perhaps point me in a direction to research this issue?

Thanks!

How did you go about installing the skin?

I'm using DotNetNuke 7 and installed the skin with the Install Extension Wizard.
Is it possible that I might have bungled the manifest? In my manifest I set the basepath to "Portals\_default\Skins\ MySkin" folder but I just noticed it installed the skin files in "Portals\3\Skins\"

In that case you installed it from Admin > Extensions.

I assumed as much. To be honest I couldn't remember whether I installed it as Admin or Host. When I copied the skin files to the _default/Skins folder it picked up the skin and I could use it and continue with my work, so that part has been resolved in a way.

So a question, if I initially installed the skin under Host instead of Admin, would I have been able to select it? I'm still unable to remove the skin. I tried renaming and reinstalling it under Host to check if this would make a difference but then I get an error that the skin already exists under another name.

Is it possible to just delete the skin files from the Skins folder or will this have other repercussions? As I understand it some settings are saved in the database and I don't want to effectively pull the rug out from underneath my project, so to speak.

Thanks for the assistance so far.
