I just found this post - as we have a similar scenario that today need to fix  on a large site that we just upgraded to 7.1.1 - suddenly the jquery will only work if admin is logged in so it is picking the jquery from admin interface ok - but for a Not-Logged-in person the jquery is not working.

I wonder if anyone had seen this issue and had a fix before I spend the whole day experimenting! ;(

I did not know if anything changed in the latest DNN 7.1.1 that could impact the site in this way?

Many thanks in advance

SG

I think DNN now only loads jQuery when is needs it (admin), which is a good thing, but when you did not add the jquery skin objkect to your skin, you might end up with a jQuery not being included when not logged in.

Thanks Timo

Ended up not such a difficult task to fix :)

After selecting Enable Skin Widgets from appearance in host settings all is fine

I wish every bug is this simple to fix

Chris,

We went through the process of using Foundation 3 on one of our DNN sites and it was quite a learning experience. We did things the wrong way but learned a lot. We're starting a new project and using what we learned from the first project avoided some major pitfalls.

It's still a little buggy but the big hurtle is using jQuery in a no conflict method. Here is the DNN Foundation skin we created - https://github.com/Ethanhackett/foundation-5-dnn-skin

It's a good starting point but for you take a look at the last few lines of code here and see how we include setup the js here https://github.com/Ethanhackett/foundation-5-dnn-skin/blob/master/Top-Navigation.ascx

Ideally Wes is right we shouldn't have to include jQuery the problem is DNN is using jQuery 1... and foundation is on 2... which causes some conflicts.

The two other things to note is the DNN modal window is still a little buggy and reloads the page inside of itself and we've found using the Ribbon Bar Control Panel instead of the fancier one works a little better too.
