We're working on a skin for a site which will have logins available only for administrators; the general user won't be able to register or login.

If we leave the "Login" token out of the skin, how does one implement logins for admins?  I searched the forums, but couldn't find any discussions of this.  There must be an elegant way of doing this.  Or maybe the answer is so obvious I can't see it.

Thanks for your help.

You can create a hidden page, and put the Account Login module on there, then bookmark the page. That's how I normally do this.

It is an obvious answer but it's one of the types of scenarios but not an obvious step!

Is that the solution you're looking for?

Nina's solution is great.  Another way you can do it is by simply instructing them to append the URL with "&ctl=login" (without the quotes), which incidentally is also a great way to login if you've accidentally lost access to the usual account login, by removing it from your skin for example.

Dear VProg

Perhaps this is possibility.
Make a skin.
Give only the possibility to login. (Login token).
And set the view status of all the pages to admin only.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, guys.

I think what we'll do finally is move the login token to the bottom panel that contains "Terms of Use," "Privacy Statement," and so on, and stick the login in there with some innocuous label like "Small Print."

If some nosy user is going to click on that, well, they deserve to be greeted with a login screen.  :)
