DNN 6.02.03 running on Windows 2008 R2

I have a skin that I need to update. When I try to load it, I get error messages. The skin has no manifest. I did try to load the skin and container together, but it failed. So I'm trying to load the skin and container separately.  The screen prompts for:

  • skin
  • container
  • neither skin nor container.

The system does ask me if I want to repair the skin, and I select yes. This is the error message:

See below for the results of the package installation

Did you check if ASP.NET has write rights? It could be that this is due to write/read issues to the temp folder.

Or an error in the manifest file (*.dnn) in the package.

Thanks Timo, I don't think that is it. The server is a test server and we had various versions of the skin out there. Even after I removed all the skins from all the pages (only a hand full of them), I could not delete them. The X icon to delete them wasn't present on the Extensions page.

Then I deleted them from the database. I think it was three tables I had to delete them from.  Then my new skin package uploaded fine and acted appropriately. So, I thought why not try uploading again as a test. So I did and the system asked me if I wanted to repair, and  I said yes.

Boom. same exact errors I got when I was originally trying update. Well we can limp along for now, but I sure wish I knew what the underlying problem was. Thanks for your help.
