I'm trying to configure a vertical DDN menu to basically reflect a breadcrumb of how the visitor go to the page.

I don't want ALL of the top level pages to appear in the menu...only the one the current page falls under.

I'm not sure if this is something as simple as a NodeSelect or something more complex.

An example of what I'm trying to accomplish is here: http://www.archny.org/press-kit

Can anyone direct me toward a solution or some good resources for this?

In this thread you there are some examples.

I think you will have to filter out only the active parents using either xslt or razor.

The example menu templates have a breadcrumb example too affair.

Or you could render the full menu and hide all that are not in the breadcrumb.

BTW, why not use the breadcrumb skin object?

I'm looking to see what's involved in replicating a menu from another application. So, breadcrumb won't really work.

Wasn't sure if it was a simple Node option or involved tweaking the XSLT. (Didn't want to spend hours trying to figure it out only to discover I was heading down the wrong path.)

If it shows how the user got to the page then I don't see how it can be a menu. Surely it *is* a breadcrumb.

Maybe I misunderstand what you want. ISTM that a menu is all places that you could go from here. A breadcrumb is the single route back to the top of the site.
