i'm new to DNN and so far it's been a very difficult process of trying to use it. but enough of my complaining. I created a simple skin and I just want to change the default font family and the size. in the skin.css file, I've added css to the #ContentPane id, body and html and nothing. what it does do is change background-color so I know i'm editing the right area. I've added !important. I've created custom css classes. something is overriding it. it looks like default.css. I've searched and I don't see any current information. someone please help. thanks.

you need to apply the font to p, h1, .. tags like in default.css, otherwise those override the general setting in your skin.
Use F12 in your browser to enter developer tools and analyse the css being applied.

thanks. it still wasn't changing this. I did use dev tools and found there was a css class called .Normal. finally, I started to see some results. I still don't get how default.css is overriding the skin.css. when I look at the source code, default.css is one of the first css files loaded while skin.css is loaded last.

I need it to affect mainly content in HTML module. i'm having such a hard time with this. I've worked on other CMS platform and it's not this hard or confusing. any tips on resources to check out? at least resources that are within the last 2 years?

DNN has several classes that are more specific than what would be typically defined. That .Normal class has been a struggle with us for years. Not much has changed when it comes to skins over the years, so even some of the older resources still hold true today. Here are some things that I typically include to override those default DNN annoyances:  https://github.com/ralphwilliams/Star...
The first section fixes issues with the control panel (pre DNN9) and the module edit icons when using Bootstrap. The fonts section overrides several of the default DNN font styles. Hope you find that helpful. (note: there is also a .SCSS version of that file available in that same repository. https://github.com/ralphwilliams/Star...)
