Ahh ah ah! this thing has become ridiculous ...
DNNGO says that all is fixed and don't receive any response why not come back to the store...
DNN STORE says that they are only sellers and do not decide, and postpone any deepening to the thread here...
DNN here don't response at the simply question "why DNNGO is still out to the store?" and resend any responsibility to the store and dnngo...
it's just ridiculous...and then we wonder why many of us are moving to the wordpress world!
in italy this is called "download barrels" ... but I thought it was only an all-Italian feature! :-))

I agree. To compete with Wordpress, DNN does need a solution to configure and style a website without design and programming skills.
Ofcourse as developers we like to develop modules and skins ourselves so we have all the control.
This is possible for the 10K+ projects but not for the smaller solutions.

I don't think DNN will survive when this marketshare (-10K website/applications) isn't supported at all.
DNNGo did a good job in this marketshare. If DNNGO isn't returning DNN should develop a SAAS cloud solution like Kentico did.
But for now we should stop agreeing who is to blame...

Point is clear so maybe DNN and DNNGo together can come to a roadmap to a permanent solution.

Will, what you say here is very worrying...
I'm using DNNGO modules on many of my websites, I've updated the DNNGO modules to latest versions but if there are still security issues we need to know them and how to fix. Remove it from the store is not a solution but it means turning your back on who has chosen DNN as a business solution.
The only viable route is to make another review and quickly re-insert the modules into the store, moreover it seems to me that DNNGO is very helpful at everything to be done.
DNNGO has become irreplaceable partner for my work. DNN is losing the best parts of DNN on the road, before the Ventrian modules, now DNNGO ... of this steps DNN will become a cms used by a few highly specialized people and will never become a product for large community use like wordpress.

Our company also has DNNGo modules installed for many of our clients. DNNGo notified us in July to update our modules, which we did, and have not had any problems since.

I share the same concerns:
- if there are still security issues, then we need to know about it
- if there are no additional security issues, then DNNGo should be allowed to return

Over the years, DNNGo has been very helpful with any problems we have had, and they have done custom work for us as well. I would hate to lose this vendor, however after turning off their sales for 4 months they may be in dire circumstances.

Awhile ago, our team provided weeks of user testing and bug reports for the initial Evoq Social release. Bob Cortale, the CRO at the time, told me he couldn't care less about us unless we brought him paying customers. I think he burned a lot of bridges.

FWIW - here is DNN's mission statement: "Our mission is to create opportunities and spread entrepreneurship to the world by providing a superior open source web application framework which cultivates a passionate developer community as well as a prosperous commercial ecosystem."

Fun thread. I have heard of this case only in passing and the description I received of the quality of the code was summed above by others. But disclaimer: I didn't see the code.

I am not sure I'd have done the same thing as DNN Corp but I have some empathy for the position they are in. And the thread IMHO illuminates a deeper issue: DNN Corp wishes to prevent "end users" from buying crappy stuff, finding out it's crappy and then thinking "this platform sucks". But the people that have jumped into the thread in defence of DNNGo are resellers. I guess Nina is perfectly happy to assume any risk from using DNNGo stuff on her clients' sites because she's responsible for the whole thing anyway. So she doesn't need protection by DNN Corp.

This wouldn't have happened were it stil Snowcovered because Brice really couldn't give a rats ass what happened to your site after you bought a module. But now that it is an official App Store I can see there is a different dynamic.

Can't see a simple way out of this mess.
