Hi, I just have a simple question - In our older DNN install (which has been upgraded since DNN 6 and is now running DNN 9.1.1), whenever I would create a new skin file ('mynewskin.ascx') , I could also create a matching css file ('mynewskin.css') in the same skin folder, and the css would automatically apply to the ascx file.

In my newer installation DNN 9.1.1 intranet website, the same behavior doesn't occur. If I create a 'mynewskin.ascx' file and than a 'mynewskin.css' file, the css doesnt get applied to the skin like in the other site.

In the original site, I can't see where the .ascx file is calling the css file. Can anyone explain to me how the ascx - css relationship works?

Tom,

I can confirm that, also in DNN 9.2.0 - I created a "Home.css" in the Xcillion skin with only this line:

.Normal {color: Fuchsia !important;}

Inspecting the cource code, Home.css is referenced. But nothing changed on a page using this skin. I added this line to the skin.css file, and the text color changed as expected.

Please create a ticket (https://support.dnnsoftware.com) to report this behaviour.

 Did you restart DNN? You need to restart it for the style sheet to be picked up (it's cached for performance reasons).

I just tested it an d it seems to work fine.

thanks for that. After a restart it worked as expected, but I wonder why the change in the skin.css was working immediately as the change in the Home.css was not.

Must have been caching of some kind..
