Hi - can someone tell me what skin is used to display system pages such as Login & Register? I assumed that it would be the skin that is set as the site skin - but its not using that skin for some reason. Its using one of the other skins.

Thanks,

all dependend controls (edit, settings, ...) use the admin skin of the current site (set in portal settings).

Well maybe you can tell me why my site acts differently then because its certainly got me puzzled. On my site - which you can visit at http://tpis.anna-and-dale.com you will find that the skin used for the Register & Login control is the same as the page currently being viewed.

So if you click login from the FrontPage you get the login control in the FrontPage for example.

I suspect this is how the Login control is supposed to work. I guess I can create a login page and then use that. However that doesn't help me with the Register page which I don't seem to be able to set to a page of my choosing.

I wouldn't mind so much if it left the other modules in the page - but since it wipes out the other module I end up with a badly laid out page.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks,

You can indeed set the Register page; it's the User page in the Site Settings.  So, in short, by default clicking either of those controls loads the control (none of the other modules) on the current tab, in the admin skin.  But you can change them to your own, customized page which can have whatever skin, containers, content etc as you wish.  For Register, to do the latter you create the custom Register page and then set it as the User page in Site Settings.  Of course, User Registration must be turned on for the site as well.

Are you sure about this? On my site its loading the register and login controls on the current tab AND using the current skin. If it loaded it using the admin skin all my problems would be solved - well for today anyway :)
