Ok So I Decided to do I site with DNN I read a whole bunch on skinning and thought that the ascx method was going to be hard but it is so easy, I even did it in pure CSS. So everything was going well. I uploaded the zip of my new skin and applied it and wala, beautiful.

Now I want to change one color via css so I open ftp and browse to where I belive the skin would be I can see the skins that installed with DNN but not the one I just zipped and uploaded.  So abviously I am missing somthing here I have spent all day searching documentation and forums it seems that I should just be able to upload my edited css file with one minor tweak without uploading the entire skin everytime I want to change somthing.

Can someone please clue me in, I seem to be lost on somthing that should be so basic I feel stupid posting this but I am at wits end.

Dear virtualtap

You can find the default skins of dnn in the DNN-ROOT\Portals\_default\Skins\... and then in a Skinfolder. Every skin has is own folder.
If you've uploaded your skin as host administrator then you will find your skin like you find the default skins of dnn.
If you've uploaded your skin as admin administrator then you will find your skin in
DNN-ROOT\Portals\0\Skins\...
You can indeed upload your new .css and put this in the write folder.
Perhaps you have to refresh your webpage...

Thanks for your help I finally got if figured out I had two folders setup one for the testing site and the live site and must have forgot that I had mapped ftp to the wrong folder in IIS ,which explains why I could see the default skins but not my own.   Thanks Again
