I am in the process of building a college site. I created a skin and container. When I put a links module on the page, I get a gray box behind it IE based browsers - Mozilla seems fine. See the problem at http://www.mydnnsite.com/ProspectiveStudents/tabid/54/Default.aspx

Here is the code in the skin:

<table width="818" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">

  <tr>
    <td width="183" class="left_menu" id="LeftPane" runat="server"></td>
    <td width="635" class="contentpane" id="ContentPane" runat="server">
          <!-- Actual Content Goes Here in the contentPane -->

    </td>
  </tr>

</table>

Here is code as rendered:

<table width="818" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
  <tr>
    <td id="dnn_LeftPane" width="183" class="left_menu"><a name="377"></a><span id="dnn_ctr377_ContentPane" align="left" style="background:cccccc;"><!-- Start_Module_377 --><div id="dnn_ctr377_ModuleContent">
        <div id="dnn_ctr377_Links__ctl0_pnlList">

    <table id="dnn_ctr377_Links__ctl0_lstLinks" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" summary="Links Design Table" border="0" style="border-collapse:collapse;">
               <tr>
                       <td valign="top">
            <table border="0" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0">
                <tr>
                    <td nowrap>

                        <a class="Normal" href="/LinkClick.aspx?link=55&amp;tabid=54&amp;mid=377" target="_self">Current Student</a>
                        &nbsp;

                    </td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                    <td>

                    </td>
                </tr>
            </table>
        </td>
               </tr>
        </table>

The "<span id="dnn_ctr377_ContentPane" align="left" style="background:cccccc;">" is putting the gray box around the link "Current Students" but for the life of me, I can't figure where it is coming from.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I found it. There is a setting Modules/Settings/PageSettings/BasicSettings that allows you set a background. It was so long ago I forgot it added something.

Thanks for all who view...

How do you like the hosting at ihostasp?

They're OK. The control panel is clumbsy - or at least drasticly different than anything I have ever used. I also host at ixwebhosting.com and ace-host.net, both of which I find easier to use. I started with ix and was pretty happy EXCEPT for the control panel SPEED (snails are faster) - functionally/ease of use they are pretty good. Then I went to ace-host.net and I am pretty happy with them. I chose ihostasp for three reasons: 1. Cheap (<$5 mo) 2. DotNetNuke, 3 and PHP running on IIS.

I am only doing software training/evaluation. We will be using DotNetNuke here at the college on our own servers beginning in October. I don't expect to go back to ihostasp after that.
