Testing is needed (by you) for an emerging new online service (by me).  The name I have given it is “EZ-Objects Creator for DotNetNuke”.   Please go to this link and try it out, it shouldn’t take too much of your time.  There are not as many choices as I would like (yet), however, I will be adding as many as I can in the next few weeks (you might want to check back occasionally).

As you’ll notice I haven’t explained much.  Being vague about “EZ-Objects Creator” is intentional for now.  The reason is I need your feedback ON YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION and HOW INTUITIVE IS THIS ONLINE SERVICE to you.  It won’t be an “easy” service if nobody understands how to use it or if it takes too much explanation or way too much time to figure out.  Is it too hard to figure out?  Maybe you don’t even know what a skin object is – let me know these things!  If you can’t figure out what the heck is going on, let me know.

In addition, please watch for spelling and grammar errors.  I need someone besides myself to catch these sorts of things.

Couple of ways to contact me:
•    Privately, if you use the “EZ-Objects Creator” my email address will be revealed to you, just send me an email to that address.
•    Publicly, just respond to this thread.

Thanks in Advance!  And,

As incentive for your help, I have ten DotNetNuke modules ready for download. If you want them they’re yours for free.  To see a demonstration of them all click here. These modules all make use of the free content from thefreedictionary.com and all of them work with both DotNetNuke Version 3 and 4.  IMHO, the most interesting of these modules is the one entitled thefreedictionary:

•    Install as a module and double-click any word on that page to get a dictionary definition displayed of that word.
•    Create it as a skin object and incorporate it into your portal’s skin.  Hence any double-clicked word on your entire site will get a dictionary definition displayed automatically.

The word Match Up game is also pretty cool, but hard – I have yet to get all five correct.

It looks that it will be a great tool...
Unfortunately I've got the following error when I give it a try:
An error has occurred.
Error: EZ-Objects Compiler is currently unavailable.
I shall like it...
If I can help... you can find my email adress...

Thanks for giving it a run.  Can you recall after clicking the "GO" button:

  1. Had you just clicked the "Process Now" Button? (nothing else)
  2. Or else, do you remember did you change any "Compiler Options" before clicking "Process Now"?
  3. Or, worst case, did the compiler page not even show up for you?

Dear DougV

I try to remember what I've done?
Yes this was it...

I've clicked open the combobox... Genre?... but I didn't change anything.
I've clicked Go (Build) at the title email_address
I've got another page...
I've changed the DotNetNuke Version to 4.3.4.
I've clicked the button View Content in View Code Options
I've clicked Process Now
And I've got the error that I told you...
An error has occured
Error: EZ-Objects Compiler is currently unavailable.

Hope this will help your to find it...

Hi Doug

The tool works fine for me.
Usage of the Tool is clear and easy.
But a little more explanation what the tool does (and why) would be good.
