Hi, I am using SOLPARTMENU in DNN 3.2.2 and working with the skin.htm, skin.css and skin.xml files.

I have modified the default DNN Blue skin and am trying to create a menu on a dark blue bar with white text. The sub menus are on a light blue background with black text.

I am sorry but I don't have a url I can point you to.

My problem is that when you select an item from a sub menu, the root item of the sub menu with the active item changes to black text. I have applied the rootmenuactiveitemcssclass in the xml, which deals with cases when the selected item is a root item, but how do I set the style of root items when one of their sub menu items is active? Setting the submenuitemactivecssclass has no affect on the root menu item. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My xml and css are below:

    <Object>
        <Token>[SOLPARTMENU]</Token>
        <Settings>
            <Setting>
                <Name>separatecss</Name>
                <Value>true</Value>
            </Setting>
            <Setting>
                <Name>rootmenuitemcssclass</Name>
                <Value>MainMenu_RootMenuItem</Value>
            </Setting>
            <Setting>
                <Name>rootmenuitemactivecssclass</Name>
                <Value>MainMenu_RootMenuItem</Value>
            </Setting>
        </Settings>
    </Object>

.MainMenu_MenuItem
{
    border-left: #cad5ea 0px solid;
    border-bottom: #cad5ea 1px solid;
    border-top: #cad5ea 1px solid;
    border-right: #cad5ea 0px solid;
    cursor: pointer;
    cursor: hand;
    color: #000000;
    font-size: 9pt;
    font-weight: bold;
    font-style: normal;
    background-color: Transparent;
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Sans-Serif;
}
.MainMenu_RootMenuItem
{
    border-left: #cad5ea 0px solid;
    border-bottom: #cad5ea 1px solid;
    border-top: #cad5ea 1px solid;
    border-right: #cad5ea 0px solid;
    cursor: pointer;
    cursor: hand;
    color: #ffffff;
    font-size: 9pt;
    font-weight: bold;
    font-style: normal;
    background-color: Transparent;
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Sans-Serif;
}

What you have done is OK and should work. I think some other style, in the stylesheet is intefering, try using the webdeveloper toolbar plugin of Firefox to debug the problem.

It seems that it is only applying the MainMenu_MenuItem style and not the MainMenu_RootMenuItem style to that particular item. Is there any way round this?
