This is probably a stupid question as the "/skins" directory seems to be the "App_Themes" folder in dnn but I'd like to use swap the "Portals/?/Skins" & "Portals/?/Containers? to "App_Themes/?/Both" as much as that sounds strange, and still be able to use them in the control panel settings. Are these folders hardcoded into the dnn framework or are they a simple setting? And would this affect updates...
It's mainly for organization only, I like having things a certain way %$&*!

Feedback is appreciated (if answer != "why the hell would you want to do that") lol ;-)

Thanks.

Sorry about late reply - I didn't see this post but going through forums atm -

You will need to add this set of rules to your *certain way* to do things. This is part of the framework - and while DNN is amazingly flexible, the whole skinning architecture revolves around specific ways in doing things.

I know what you mean about doing things a certain way but this is the 'way' you need to work with DNN.

You could probably give it a go to customise something but your success rate would be really really low and you would have wasted a month of Sundays doing something that won't work.

Not the answer you might have wanted, but nevertheless - the fact of the matter at this stage.

Thanks for the reply!

I have found that out for the most part, the way DNN is seems to be good as it gets (which isn't a shot lol).

With my aspx  files that aren't really a part of the DNN portal I use (sub site of a sub site) I use the Themes folder for them and just needed a central folder for everything, you know, change one or two settings for everything,  I just made myself an xml file with strings pointing from the regular asp.net folders to the dnn ones and use the settings from that in each file I make, good as it gets for now I suppose, And thanks for the reply again :)
In the future I'd like to convert my site over to DNN... One Sunday at a time lol.
