We would like to pull information that is from a Users Profile.    What I did was create a new property:

Manage Profile Property
 -Property Name: Agency Name
 -Data Type: Text
 -Property Category: Name
 -Length: 75
 -Required: checked
 -Visible: checked
 -View Order: 10

I then added a new user then clicked on Manage Profile and added text in 'Agency Name'

So the information should be saved.   In a new module I created how do I pull this data?  I tried the following but get an error:
txtCompany.Text = Entities.Users.UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo.Profile.GetProperty("Agency Name").ToString

Any thoughts?

Is there any difference in doing it:
txtCompany.Text = Entities.Users.UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo.Profile.GetPropertyValue("AgencyName").ToString

vs.

Dim myUser As New UserInfo
myUser = UserController.GetUser(PortalId, Entities.Users.UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo.UserID, True)
Dim myUserBio As String = myUser.Profile.GetPropertyValue("AgencyName")
txtCompany.Text = myUserBio.ToString

I figured out why it wasn't working before.   I was signed in as admin.   Once I signed in as a created user it worked fine my initial way.   Just curious if there is better performance with the first way.
Thanks.

Performance wise, there's practically no difference, aside from slightly extra memory to hold those two values in variables. The real choice depends on usage of the values. If all you need is to populate that textbox, the first approach is fine. If you need to manipulate and pass the value, then use variables to hold them.
