Hi

I just changed a media source from MP3 to OGG. The installer kicked up an error and then my portal went down.
I'm trying to fix it now - restoring web.config files - but it will not boot.

I tried adding the remote error lines to the web.config file but it either doesn't load or I have copied it incorrectly.

Any help would be most welcome.

If you want to display the error page in the browser, the code is the following.

<customErrors mode="Off" />

What happens when you go to your DNN site do you get an error on every page?  What exactly did you change on your portal at the time of the issue?

Thanks, but I've done that.

It doesn't seem to even run the web.config anymore. I renamed it (temporarily) and reloaded. The same default error page comes up.

I tried to use an ogg file for a media source. It gave an error so I converted the file to an MP3. When I tried to send it up the site just stopped. Now when I try to log in I get the default error page.

I downloaded all the directory files to my local machine and pointed it at a local database and it worked.

I used the local files and pointed them to my host server and no joy.

I don't know where to find the error log to see what is failing.

Thank You for your help.

I did manage to get the site back up (and a very current backup).
The default error page will show if the web.config isn't even there or is corrupt.
