Im using the following code to change the role of a user within one of our modules:
Which works fine ...

Dim objUserController As New UserController
Dim objRoleController As New DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController
Dim objRoleInfo As New DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleInfo
objRoleInfo = objRoleController.GetRoleByName(PortalId,
"Applicants")
objRoleController.DeleteUserRole(PortalId, UserId, objRoleInfo.RoleID)
objRoleInfo = objRoleController.GetRoleByName(PortalId,
"Members")
objRoleController.AddUserRole(PortalId, UserId, objRoleInfo.RoleID, Now(), Null.NullDate)

Response.Redirect(myNEWURL,

True)

But the problem is - at the moment - unless the user logs off and then log back in the change is not being seen by future page requests.

Can anyone suggest what I need to flush or reset to force the page pointed to by myNEWURL to become accesible to the user.

Which also raised another question -

When exactly is the user.roles string array populated - at the moment it seems that it is not consistent.

Bump anyone from CORE got any thoughts here.

Got a site that needs to be live this week - and this is driving me crazy.

It seems to work correctly by itself on my local development server.
So I can only guess that its a caching thing on the live system than
is different to the development.config setup

I'm not sure what the name of the cached user object would be, but if you found it and set it to equal to the value of your userinfo class with the newly added role, that might do the trick.

Could it be as simple as a cache issue?
