I have a requirement beyond what I "think" DNN can provide and I don't know if my requirements can be met... and I certainly don't know how to meet them.

I have the concept of a Membership. Which is a monthly subscription to use and reserve assets (cars, planes etc)

Each Membership has 1 PRIMARY Member who is responsible for paying the full membership and can use allowances provided by the membership to use and reserve assets.

Each Membership can have many SECONDARY members who are charged a small token fee, just to keep active and can use the allowances provded by the membership without restriction.

Can I do this in DNN?

How?

Not out of the box.

You can set a different role for the two different groups and you could link users in the Primary group to the secondary group by adding a table and programming in some custom registration routines.

Yep - this is certainly something that could be created inside the DNN framework.

It would require the creation of a custom membership system and associated reporting and tracking elements.

And creation of custom modules to handle you business elements.

Note however:

We are of course talking about a programming exercise here - not some click and its done with what exists in the DNN core concept.

The thing to understand about DNN is that its a web framework - it provides all the basic structures and infrastruction for the creation of a CMS style web site - and as such that framework is fully extensible thru the creation of custom modules to perform specific business tasks

Drop me an email if you are looking to get that sort of modules developed.

I do a lot of custom DNN module and portal development for clients
 - and would be happy to chat about your needs.
