there does not appear to be a property called IsEnabled (there is a private method called isEnabled())

Things chaged in the final release. I updated my tutorial to remove it.

I jsut found out that you should call RegisterScriptManager(). I'll be updating my tutorials this weekend.

I'm also interested in understanding what "Install ajax on the server" means.  As far as I know (and I'm no expert) you install the AJAX extensions inside of Visual Studio 2005.  Are there updates to the 2.0 framework that have to be installed on the server to use ajax?

ASP.NET AJAX (previously known as MS Atlas) is not installed from within Visual Studio. It is an actual install program that has to occur on your server or development machine.

I guess this has gone beyond the scope of DNN-related topic, but my conern is:  Is ASP.Net Ajax deployable onto a webhost that only offers default .Net 2.0 IIS and FTP access  IE:  No remote access to install programs on the server.
I imagine most competent webhosts have installed the ASP.Net Ajax along with .Net 2.0 anyway, and I'm sure I'll learn this via my clients in due time.

I've not yet had the chance to re-visit researching the Microsoft Ajax on my development machine, was only seeking some "heads up" information before that day comes (which is rather soon).

Michael,

Is there anyway that you could tailor your ajax module sample to show the use of ajax where it doesn't have partial rendering enabled fully on the module control.   Add a few extra controls to display info, add an update panel for only the gridview along with any properties that are required to make it work.

I think this would be a useful example for community as it would provide a clearer picture.

Cheers,

Colin

This tutorial is in progress and will not use partial rendering
