I am a newbie in DNN.

I am trying to create a custom module for my DNN site.

Have you tried the documentation for download with 4.4.1 (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/default.aspx)? There is a two part DotNetNuke 4.0 Module Development document in the docs. Great place to start.
