What's up all,
  Just wondering if anyone has successfully updated the Membership provider to allow duplicate usernames across mutiple portals.  If so, I have an idea on where to start, but just was wondering if it has successfully done.

I know that you can have the same username across multiple portals if you use the same password (which in turn means the same users), but right now we have 15+ portals that are not connected at all (just on the same instance of DNN) and since the portals are TOTALLY different, we have users span different portals but don't know that they are on the same instance of DNN...Get me?  So it is very unlikely that a username say "DNNUser1234beg" will be used by 2 different people...But when that same user signs up and gets the "username is already been used", they think they already have an account...My customer service gets calls all of the time about it...

So I have to create my own MembershipProvider, based on the "AspnetMembershipProvider" and update the Usercontroller to make sure that everything is searching by Portal ID (which is should).

So if anyone who has successfully done this can chime in with any suggestions or "heads up", it would be MUCH appreciated!
