I'm new in dotnetnuke globe, I installed its starter kit on my vs.net 2005 and I do the wizard in auto form.

But I have a problem , when I was reading shaun's blog(the founder) , I saw a n image that shows folder lists  in the starter kit, I compared it  with folders that were installed in my computer, but I couldn't seen the desktopModules Folder, please help me that what Should I do ?

You first have to install the Dotnetnuke application...so make sure the web.config file is pointing to the correct db and hit the "play" button in VS and it should start to compile, then open a browser and the DotNetNuke install kicks in...after the install is complete you can view the portal...After that refresh your VS project and the folders should be there.

Installing the StarterKit only creates the templates that VISUAL STUDIO will use to MAKE a live site.

You need to run the Project Template inside VS2005 to create the website itself before you will see any folders.

However, IMHO - if are a new to DNN you would be better installing the SOURCE CODE version of dnn so that you can get familiar with the CORE and how it does things - as well as being able to look at the source code for some of the core modules.

thank everybody,

I can see all of the folders in starter kit except desktopmodules folder!

what's the problem ? help me please.

for me too that problem exists! Except the DESKTOPMODULES folder i can see others !

please help us!
