What I am wondering is if there is any pre-made modules out there that may make it easy to pull username/password information from a database for DNN?  Basically I am working on putting together a community based site and unfortunately most of the good free chat applications are not ASP.NET based and I don't have time to work on getting one up and running.  Instead I am going to be using some free PHP based chat applications and then importing the login information from my members in the DNN portal into the chat database.  If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

I  believe it is (theoretically) impossible to decrypt the passwords used by ASP.NET.  You can only check to see if a given password is the same, you can't decrypt.

You can only validate user credentials against the encrypted Password.

As mentioned the ASP.NET system uses a hashing method and not an actualy encryption/decryption method therefore you are unable to reverse the password.

Decrypting Passwords is not a good idea - it exposes the user's personal digital identification to prying eyes like ourselves.  However, if you are interested in Encryption/Decryption schemes - I have been using a coding example from this company www.obviex.com.  They have a Simple Rijndael/AES encryption and decryption code in both VB.NET and C#.
