I sure hope someone can help with this. I am so tired that I suspect I am just missing something painfully obvious.

I have developed a custom module on my local system in DNN 4.5. There are actually two related modules. Everything works fine.

But when I put the module out on the production server, also DNN 4.5, I get null reference ("Object reference not set to an instance of an object") errors here and there throughout, and the modules cannot be used. Can anyone point me toward likely culprits to look for?

Tim

Can you list your items of your package?

did you use the packaging wizard on bottom of the module definitions page?

I used the packaging tool the first time around, then I tried it manually as well. Same result either way.

The package consists of two modules, each with a view and admin form (ascx) and a shared settings form. I make extensive use of user controls to build these forms, and I use the prerender event to do things so I can be sure that the nested user controls have all handled their events. One of these null reference errors is coming up from the prerender. Problem is, I call other methods from there, so it's hard to tell where the exception is really happening. And since I don't get the errors in my development environment, I can't debug!

Here is an example error....

Do you happen to use these tags ( <% %> ) in your controls?  If you do, they can be the cause of error message and the error message will not tell you which of these <% %> is the culprit of the problem.
