I have a very general question that I realize cannot be answered simply here.  Therefore, I would like to discuss this in more detail with someone who is knowledgeable in module development.  If you would provide my technical contact with your email address, he will be more than happy to give you the specifics.

My question is, I have a .net project (dll only) that allows me to do some pretty nifty image rendering.  However, all of the calls to it are within an aspx file.  Therefore, I cannot simply create a module as is.  I need to know how to call the aspx code for the dll through an ascx file.  Basically, is there a way to use this dll within the DNN module structure?

My technical contact is al@spencehackney.com.  He will fill you in on what we're trying to do and find out what would be required to secure your services in creating this module.

The intent of your question is not exactly clear to me .. so my comments may or may not answer your question :)

If you have an .aspx page with code that calls a DLL then you can simply copy that code into a .ascx file .. eg:

If myPage.aspx contains:

Page_Load() {

NiftyImg myImg = new NiftyImg();

// etc...

}

Then just copy that to your .ascx file:

myControl.ascx

Page_Load() {

NiftyImg myImg = new NiftyImg();

// etc...

}

I'm not sure if I understand you... I think I use exactly same approach in my module (you can check or even try if is suitable for your needs)

I have underlying component used by dnn module (aspx pages). Components read images from database, render (thumbnails etc) images and also answer on image request and returns picture to client. What exactly is problem? Can you be more specific?

If you would like you can have your person e-mail me and I will glady work with you to identify the steps needed.  I will need some clarification before I can offer any insight.
