I've spent all day trying to make my Ajax based module do Ajax. I've stripped down the test case to a really really simple one which I cannot make work.

In the following code, I have a button inside an UpdatePanel and a date outside the update panel. I am expecting that upon clicking the button, the date will not change. It changes whatever I do. I have also a date in the skin. The skin date also changes at every click of the button.

Template code:

 <%= DateTime.Now.ToString() %>

 <asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="update1">

<ContentTemplate>

<

asp:Button ID="abc" runat="server"

/>

</

ContentTemplate

>

</asp:UpdatePanel

>

Code behind:

protected

{

DotNetNuke.Framework.

override void OnInit(EventArgs e)if (!DotNetNuke.Framework.AJAX.IsInstalled())throw new Exception("AJAX NOT INSTALLED");AJAX.RegisterScriptManager();

base.OnInit(e);

}

asp.net ajax is properly installed. The test will not work, either with Partial Rendering activated or not in module definition. I have assigned the ScriptManager in the module definition.

Am I missing something or is this simply broken?

I am running DNN 4.5.3 under IIS 7 in compatibility mode.

Thank you

 This text editor is also pretty broken.......

5 minutes after posting this, I got it working. What I did was to change the entire web.config with the one provided with the 4.5.3 release and everything started to work from there. I was missing something in the web.config. I went too quick when I upgraded to 4.5.3 (from 4.5.1 I believe) and didn't check for web.config changes.
