Hi all

Im new to Dnn module development and most probably its a dumb question im asking.

IM working on Settings class Class SettingsInherits Entities.Modules.ModuleSettingsBase

Partial

This class inherits the overrides loadsettings and updatesettings. I require also the delete override ( not avaiable in ModuleSettingsBase) as i need to execute sql query before deleting the module.

Could anyone advise me what to do or another way that this could be done?

Matt

Depending on your application you could most likely do the script via a trigger on your database table.

As far as im aware - there is currently no easy way to trigger an event when a module is deleted from a tab.

I also need to delete 2 txt files on deletion. These files are created when the module is loaded. (Basically a trigger wouldn't solve anything but  thanks for your suggestion Mitchel)

Personaly I don't know  the reason why the DNN developer team did not implement an override function for the Delete . I guess  it would be the same as on Load and Update.

Actually the trigger could help you build a solution.  You could with the trigger:

Cleanup your DB stuff.

Write file clean up records to a new DB table.

Create a schedule job that processes file clean up records in the new DB table.
