Has anybody enabled or used the extended forgot password functions such as security question and security answer? I was looking at having those to provide the password instead of emailing it (please I know the security risks)

Actually if someone could tell me how to email the password when the user provides the email address that would be best

The only way to get a password emailed is to use a custom module.

There are a couple out there that can handle emailing a password reminder including our own.

BUT they will only work IF the passwords are stored in CLEAR - non encoded format.

Well I wondered if anybody had eneabled these features in the core 'Fogot Password' functionality - i see places to ask a security question and get an answer etc.

Also not sure what you mean - the default forgot password functiality works fine and my passwords are hashed a tthe least
