Hi,

when the links module is used and you create a link you get a URL like this (as result): <a href="/LinkClick.aspx?link=84&amp;tabid=102&amp;mid=427" target="_self">

From where does the file LinkClick.aspx come. I didn't search the complete source package but I didn't found that file. I found some evidence that the LinKClick deals with the SiteMap but nothing for sure. Can anyone explain me how the LinkClick does work?

Thanks in advance

The linkclick.aspx is a virtual file that is mapped in the HttpHandler section of web.config

<add verb="*" path="LinkClick.aspx" type="DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FileServerHandler, DotNetNuke" />

You can find the actual code in the DotNetNuke.Library project Components/FileSystem/FileServerHandler.vb file.

Thanks jbrinkman,

I had some assumption before but I wasn't for sure. The reason for my question was I intend code a control to insert a link in a skin file. When you're using a link by the dint of the link module, sometimes destroy or disturbs the design of the page. Additionally I want to redirect to a page by the target name. When you're writing a skin on the development machine (-> localhost) and copy it to the production server the values from the LinkClick.aspx are normally  not the same and you must manually insert the values again

greetings
guy
