Hi

I recently started working with DotNetNuke so my question is probably some stupid newbie problem, but anyways here goes:

I am writing my own module in C#, and while the module works pretty much as I want it to, I can't get it to be portable. I created it from the template I installed into VS2005 from the Starter Kit, and when I look in the controller class that was auto generated, it looks like that both IPortable and ISearchable is implemented into this file, but when I install the module into my DotNetNuke installation, I can't get it to be portable or searchable.

I am probably missing something obvious, but if somebody can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. I already read the document about IPortable, but as far as I can figure out, I have already done everything that document says, but it still doesn't work.

If you are loading it in manually make sure you set the controller class properly and also make sure that the proper checkboxes are selected for supported features.

Another tip if you are MANUALLY creating the module.

When you first create a module entry and add the Controller Class name - DNN seems to haveproblems evaluating the class.

You need to reopen the module settings and hit the UPDATE button a second time to force DNN to re-evaluate the classes capabilities.

Once you do this the Portalable and Searchable settings should update to ticked.

I have set up the controller class according to the document, and the Portable, Searchable and Upgradable checkboxes are all unchecked and disabled so I cannot enable them. I read that these will be automatically checked if the right methods in the controller class are implemented, but no matter what I tried I can't get them to become enabled.

I will do some more experiments, but more suggestions are appreciated.

I tried updating, but it didn't help. Will keep experimenting.
