I have been experimenting with the SolPartMenu code unsucessfully and wanted to check a few more assumptions.  I made a change to the SolPartMenu code that I KNEW would break the menu system and break site navigation.  Uploaded the DLL's and the site continued to work.  It's like my site isn't using SolPartMenu.  But I definetly have [SOLPARTMENU] in my skin.  In my ./admins/skins/solpartmenu.ascx and menu.ascx are identical.  Here is what they say.

<%@ Control language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" Explicit="True" Inherits="DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Controls.SolPartMenu" CodeFile="SolPartMenu.ascx.vb" %>

The default is SolPartMenu....right?   even if you use [MENU] in your skin.  So, why can't I break SolPartMenu installing DLL's that prevent almost all menu items from being populated?

When you say you are experimenting with the SolPartMenu code - I assume you mean the SOLPART code provided in the DNN Source ?

Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread.   Actually, I got my code from solution partners... The version numbers look the same, but I will give the DNN version a shot and see what happens.  Thanks.

Seem to recall that the DNN version of SOLPART is not the same as the standalone.

You would need to look at the code on the DNN source ...
