One way would be to create a setting in your module to select which other module you want to use the settings from. Create a stored procedure to read the available modules:

select f2.TabName, f3.ModuleTitle, f1.ModuleID, f1.TabModuleID from TabModules f1
left join Tabs f2 on f1.TabID = f2.TabID
left join Modules f3 on f1.ModuleID = f3.ModuleID
order by f2.TabName, f3.ModuleTitle

You will need to store the value returned in f1.TabModuleID

Then create another stored procedure to read the settings table:

Select SettingValue From TabModuleSetting Where TabModuleID = 99 And SettingName = 'MySetting'

You will use the standard Settings method to retrieve the TabModuleID to use and call your stored procedure for the shared settings.

Hope this helps :)
