Hi,

I have one scenario in current application when users from one application are added to dontnetnuke application db on certain conditions. I have written a trigger which adds user to dotnetnuke db. I am able to add the user to dotnetnuke db succesfully giving all required roles but since dotnetnuke application encrypts the password for user I am not able to give any default password. Any idea how to do I add user with default password for istance 'xyz' encrypted with salt directly from trigger? I have tried giving default password and salt but user is not able to login using that password. Plaintext pwd doesnt work for me.

Thanks

you need to encrypt password using machine key and Microsoft ASP.Net Memberships component.

This forum is reserved for questions regarding the UserDefinedTable module.

Perhaps you can use the DNN built-in User Account management tool to create a template account (ex. DefaultUser) and then assign a default password to this new account.  Then look into DNN DB, aspnet_Users/aspnet_Membership tables for the Password and PasswordSalt of the template account and then use these values in your trigger.
