I have previously worked with Microsoft CMS which have the concept of Channels. You add postings (pages in DNN) to a channel. This is a very useful feature since you can iterate through all posting in a specific channel. Is there a way to simulate this in DNN?

To be more concrete, this is what I want to do:

Lets say I have a simple sitestructure with these tab-url's:

//PAGE1

//PAGE1//PAGE1_1

//PAGE2

//PAGE2//PAGE2_1

//PAGE3

//PAGE3//PAGE3_1

In a module implemented by me I want to iterate through all tabs under //PAGE1, //PAGE2 and //PAGE3 respectivelly. I want to do specific things with the tabs under //PAGE1 and so on. How should I know if a tab is a child of //PAGE1?

Obviosly I can demand the site structure to be fix such that //PAGE1 is the first tab and so on, or I could demand the name of //PAGE1 never to change, in which case I can find all tabs beneath it. This is however not the desired behaviour. I cannot make these assumptions. If //PAGE1 was a channel with a specific ID the site structure or the name of the tab wouldn't matter.

So once again, is there a solution to my problem?

Regards

Anders Löfgren
