Hi,

Dotnetnuke cannot pass W3C validation when DTD is XHTML STRICT because the viewstate hidden field is not surrounded by div tags.

There is a way to put viewstate into a div?

try setting the xhtmlconformance node in the web.config to strict, that should force asp.net to do it for you.

Thank you for your response.

I've already done that change to web.config, putting at the end of the configuration section, just before </system.web> the <xhtmlConformance mode="Strict"/> .

<configuration>

  <system.web>
      .........
      ..........

     <xhtmlConformance mode="Strict" />

  </system.web>

</configuration>

The only benefit that occurs in my dnn 4.6.2 is that the name attribute is no longer rendered on the form tag, and that' right for xhtml strict compliace, but no changes occurs for viewstate.

Is it a dnn bug? Have you ever tried?
