Hi,

I manage to pass user inputs as querystrings while nevigating from a .ascx to another at the same module, using NavigateURL as follows:

        string entryUrl = Globals.NavigateURL("", "param1=" + Server.HtmlEncode(inputField.Text));   // go to the default view module
        Response.Redirect(entryUrl, true);

However, if the inputField.Text contains & character following any other characters, such as "&a" or "&*", this API will return friendly URL like

     http://localhost/webhr_dev/Search/tabid/54/anyword/+/*/Default.aspx

that is not a valid url for DNN (I get HTTP 400 response code). In fact, this url will be translated as http://localhost/webhr_dev/Search/tabid/54/ctl/AdvancedSearch/mid/372/Default.aspx by DNN. So the error is reasonable.

 I would like to know if there is any workaround to avoid this issue or you could provide me other design direction.

 Any help would be appreciated.

Ricky.

Build the paramater by hand after the navigateURL() generates the base URL.

string entryUrl = Globals.NavigateURL() & "?" & Server.HtmlEncode("?param1=" & inputField.Text));

What happens if you use Server.UrlEncode rather than HtmlEncode?

I append the query strings using string concatanation along with UrlEncode as

baseUrl+ "=" + Server.UrlEncode(phrase));

Now it works!

Thanks a lot.

Ricky.

By the way,

could I override this default behavior?

Ricky.
