Hi All,

I recently downloaded ALTB gallery from http://amitleibov.info/dnn/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Terms/Default.aspx (you need to register). It's a free, port of the Vs2005 starter kit gallery, and comes with source code.

It works very well, apart from the fact that when you view pictures, it jumps away from the current skin to the admin  skin.

Looking at the code, it uses EditUrl to navigate among the many "View" controls (ViewAlbum, ViewPhotos) defined in the module definition.

I googled around, and found the NavigateURL is recommended rather than EditUrl if you want to avoid going to the Admin Skin.

I've tried NavigateUrl ala Globals.NavigateURL(PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabID, "ViewPhotos", "AlbumID=" + info.AlbumID.ToString(), "mid=" + ModuleId.ToString());but it still ends up going to the Admin skin.

viewPhoto.HRef = DotNetNuke.Common.

Any ideas?

Using "ViewPhoto" in there is going to tell DNN to load the ViewPhoto control, by loading a specific control in that manner ctl/ViewPhoto, DNN will always load the admin skin.

What I would do is modify the photo module to have a "loader" control with a placeholder on it. That control loads either the main (default) control, or loads the ViewPhoto control based on a querystring parameter. Then when using NavigateURL instead of "ViewPhoto" have "" and then in the params section put something like "&photoctl=ViewPhoto", your loader control would then load the proper control into the placeholder.

Chris,

Thanks very much for your suggestion. Was good of you to reply.

Does that mean then that using Control keys with NavigateUrl will always load the admin skin?

I did try passing containersrc and skinsrc etc in the querystring to the module, but the resulting url was too long!

Other than your suggestion, is there no way to navigate between different view controls using navigateURL and stay within the current skin?

Cheers

Rich
