Using DNN 4.8 to create a module. I have gridviews which I cannot change some of the properties on. In VS 2005 or VWB 2008 Express, I can create a new (non DNN) web site, create a new page, add a gridview to it, set any style that I like and all is right with the world. When working with DNN 4.8 install I  drop a gridview onto a page, go into properties and change the font name but cannot change pager style font size, strikeout, underline, overline, etc. Nothing happens in VS or VWB. The ascx file shows the properties as being changed. When I fire up the page without debugging my settings have no effect. As a test I created a fresh DNN 4.8 portal, added a new WebUserControl.ascx file and dropped a gridview on it. Still no luck. Even if a CSS file had gridview settings, dosen't the control's property settings override at that level?

Anyone else seeing anything like this?

Gordon,

While I have not experienced this exact issue, I have addressed and successfully resolved many issues using the Firebug add-on for Firefox. This tool allows you to see (amongst other things) exactly what CSS is being used to render the look and feel of your website, and in this case your gridview. You will be able to see what styles are being applied and what styles are being overriden.

Hope that helps,

Ian

Thanks for the quick response Ian.

I just did another test and this time attempted to change the settings using the code-behind.

 Protected Sub GridView1_RowCreated(byval ....................................) Handles ................
            If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then
                e.Row.Cells.Item(0).BackColor = Color.DarkSlateBlue <---- WORKS FINE!
                e.Row.Cells.Item(0).ForeColor = Color.White                 < ---- WORKS FINE!
            ElseIf e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.Pager Then
                e.Row.Font.Name = "Alba"    <-- WORKS FINE!
                e.Row.Font.Size = 6             <--  HAS NO EFFECT!
            End If
       End Sub

Try this :

e.Row.Font.Size = FontUnit.Point(6)
