Hi,

Are you saying you have the DNN source code and it has a solution.  using that, you want to open it in VS2005 as normal, and then with the source code you have from the module you bought, integrate it all together with the DNN solution so you can easily do things like F5 Debug Builds?

Also, is your source module in a particluar format (WAP/Class Library)?

That may be asking a lot of information but just trying to clarify what you want.

Yes you need to answer the questions in the previous post. Here is an outline of how the answer will basically go:

Option 1 - The module uses WSP format) This is the easiest. You simply install the module and then open the website in Visual Web Developer Express or Visual Studio using File then Open Web Site. You will see the source in the DesktopModules directory and also possibly the App_Code directory.

Option 2 - The module uses WAP format) You must have the full version of Visual Studio to modify this code. The format the source code will be in is unknown. It can be packaged in a number of different ways.

I hope module developer's will see that Option 1 is the easiest method whether the person has Visual Studio or Visual Web Developer Express. Even if you develop using WAP it is easier to distribute the code using WSP. Just my opinion, others are of course free to disagree.

Very thanks to Michael,

I think I need to work around the option 2. I've tryed to install it with Option 1 method, but the .vb and .sln files are no installed, and when I open the DNN solutions some reference of module installed are not found. It's a property agent ventrian module if you know it. So I think I need to add it with Option 2 method.

Where I can find some guidelines about Option 2.

Ok look at this tutorial:

You can create a project like this:

And then replace the files with the source code you have. Or at least it will help you understand how it's all wired-up.
