Help! How can I edit the properties of an already existing custom module that I've created? For instance I have a module that I've just recently implemented isearchable for and want to add the Controller Class name but when I go to edit the module definition it is grayed out.  In fact the only options I can change are Friendly Name & Description?

In my local development version I was able to modify all properties.

I cannot delete and re-add this module because there are already a lot of instances of it in use on the site.

Any help/guidance is appreciated! Thanks.

Not too long ago (maybe in DNN  4.07.00 ?) many of the functions and fields of the Module Definitions page were disabled when being accessed remotely, apparently to prevent the host user (who might be unaware of the dangers that making changes to module definitions could cause) from creating module packages for installed modules and from making other changes and figuring that a module developer would only need to make changes on their local development system.  I for one, would like to see this capability restored but also understand that when wrongly used by an uninformed host user could be deadly.

To add the new BusinessControllerClass and pickup the change in the SupportedFeatures you will need to follow the usual procedures for creating a module upgrade package and installing the upgrade via the module installer.

Without looking closely at the code executed when the business controller class of a module definition is changed, I can NOT recommend that you directly make the changes to the DesktopModules table in the database.
